After 8 amazing years in London, I made the decision to move back to the US to be closer to family and friends. My fiance and I decided to do a little traveling on the way home - mostly through his native land of Australia.
So far I’ve eaten at approximately 47 hawker stalls in Singapore, jet skied around the Whitsundays, swam with a sea turtle through the Great Barrier Reef, stopped wearing shoes, worked on a couple personal projects, and had lots of quality time with family and friends down here.
So far I can highly recommend a mini ‘gap year’ in your 30s.

Senior Copywriter - Anomaly LA
2016-2018
I joined when Anomaly had just opened their LA office, and spent two of the most fun years of my advertising career there. We had a small team who genuinely enjoyed each other and more work than we knew what to do with. I got to work with some very talented people and ultimately was able to transfer to the London office to fulfill my dream of living in Europe. Well, almost. Thanks Brexit.
Brands I’ve worked on: Netflix, Beats, YouTube, Snapchat, Coca-Cola Brands
I spent a little under two years at 180LA learning a lot about working at a mid-size agency. I learned more about process, how to hold my own in big meetings, and how to produce loads of work in a short amount of time. I worked with two of my favourite CDs ever - Mike and Jason – who taught me almost everything I know about how to make work that’s funny.
Brands I’ve worked on: Asics, Dollar Shave Club, Expedia, Miller Lite, HP, Boost Mobile
Copywriter - 180 LA
2015-2016
My first job out of school was at a small independent agency started by Keith Cartwright. It was a full-on three years of a tiny team pitching and producing ideas for huge clients. Keith helped me understand how to write a proper script, how to really push and craft creative, and how to communicate and work together with clients to produce the best work.
Brands I’ve worked on: Nike, LEGO, Loren Stewart, Fivestar Training, GE

A creative in advertising who went to VCU Brandcenter? Groundbreaking.
This was a really weird two years full of stress and a decent amount of crying, but I walked out with a book that got me a cool job, stories I still pull out at parties, and some of my very best friends for life. Worth it.
Masters in Advertising / Copywriting - VCU Brandcenter
2010-2012
In a former life I thought I wanted to be a trader on Wall Street, until I was introduced to the wild and wonderful world of advertising through a professor of mine named Mike Allen. He gave me my first copywriting internship and helped me see how fun this job can be. Thank you Mike.
Bachelors in Economics - UNC Chapel Hill
